The Modern Data Company is hiring a determined, ambitious, and driven Sales Engineer / Solutions Architect.

In this hybrid role, you will act as both Sales Engineer and Solutions Architect.

  • As Sales Engineer—Use your knowledge and experience to discover, support and to recommend appropriate customer solution offerings. You will also deliver technical presentations, solution demonstrations and lead architecture discussions
  • As Solutions Architect—Identify, create, and manage technical relationships with customers. You will recommend business and technical solutions and use cases.

Roles and Responsibilities

As Sales Engineer:

  • Understand and be conversant about Modern Data solutions, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats
  • Research the market to find gaps in business technology
  • Discuss pricing with customers and offering them available deals
  • Plan deliveries and installations
  • Liaise for customers who need help troubleshooting issues with the new technology

As Solutions Architect:

  • Ability to consider system requirements to ensure the hardware can handle the software and drivers
  • Develop and test prototypes of software and application solutions
  • Generate programming codes for programs in computer languages, including JavaScript and HTML
  • Write technical manuals to make onboarding of new users easy and seamless
  • Act in a Program Management capacity

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or commensurate experience in Data Science, Architecture...)
  • 7 plus yrs. pre-sales experience
  • Excellent knowledge of data ecosystems, solutions, and technologies
  • Ability to travel throughout the region
  • A listener who is customer-oriented and attentive to their needs
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience and strong knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in using software for sales such as Salesforce
